verizon dsl

I have a verizon dsl modem westell 327W
they up dated my software for it a few days a go

the internet light keeps flashing
connection is fine, but when I asked them about light flashing they tell me "that fine".

it didn't ever do that before when I was not on firefox.
it even does it when computer off.

I just don't trust them with their answer

can anyone give me feed back
