Hi folks,
I've just deployed an Aironet 1131AG (AIR-AP1131AG-E-K9), and it's doing just wonderful. Except for the very capped transmit power.
In Europe, the maximum allowed transmit power for 802.11b/g is 20dbm (exactly what Cisco claims in the 1131AG specs).
However,
#802.11b/g radio
ap(config-if)#power local ?
One of: -1 2 5 8 11 14
cck Set power for CCK rates
maximum Set power to allowed maximum
ofdm Set power for OFDM rates
Going deeper for CCK/OFDM rates lists the same options. I can only set a maximum of 14dbm. Does Cisco measure its output as transmit_power+antenna_gain?
I would really really need those extra 3db-6db. Any idea if the US IOS allows for over 14dbm?
Any help much appreciated. Thanks.
