Though, I suppose if you're using a VoIP handset, they wouldn't be able to tell if you were using VoIP (permitted) or cell-phone (banned)... That could be an issue. |

in reality VOIP is a money loss for the airlines.
and cell phones are the same thing.
one other reason we do not use wireless devices on the airplanes is that the airlines have not changed everything over to DIgital. Most of the airlines use Analog communications to and from the airport.
I believe the reason that they took out AIRCELL out of the airplanes is that there is no more analog cell phone usage in the usa. Hince no aircells wich were analog.
