Re: 15/15 Plan in NW Oregon goes extremely slow

Ok so I don't have an account so I can't edit my posts but... I'm going to update.

Seems like the router is still giving me a headache, I would like to replace it (no FiOS tv) with a different one, any suggestions on how to do this google isn't very helpful and I can't find my manual.

Your Actiontec has either a coax WAN port or an ethernet WAN port in use at any one time. If you said "There's a WAN connection on the router, is that for using an alternate router?", I'll take it to mean there's nothing plugged into the jack. If that's the case, your connection is coax and can be bridged.

If there's something plugged into the WAN RJ-45 jack and you didn't just put it there, your data connection is ethernet and you can replace the Actiontec with another router.

Depending on what you have, either this FAQ entry »Verizon Online FiOS FAQ »How do I replace my MoCA-connected Actiontec router and still get VOD or this one »/faq/15871 would be the one to try.

Read through both of them and see which one seems to fit your circumstance. If you're not sure, come back and ask more questions.

As for editing your posts, create an account. Justin likes the numbers.
