What I meant is, I think cable was beating DSL's pants off, so Verizon does to the mats with FIOS causing cable to fight back with DOCSIS 3.0. It works both ways. Do you think Verizon would be investing billions in fiber if cable wasn't competing? There would be no motivation.

In terms of new ads, DSL's cheap prices and slower speeds, smoked cable's higher prices and faster speeds.
Billions in video revenues is a good motivation to deploy fiber and telcos couldn't do any video without rebuilding their network. |
