anon : Verizon is a terrible HSI and Television provider. FiOS is a terrible technology and it is clearly showing its age quickly. FiOS was great when it launched but since then, the speeds have started to slow. If it wasn't for Cable MSOs and their contractual obligations to cities and/or counties plus added government regulation, then there would be no competition to telephony providers such as Verizon. Cable MSOs are the reason companies such as Verizon had to clean up their game and install FiOS.

Remember that silly tax by ISPs to gain revenue to build FTTH for all users? Instead Verizon pocketed the money and built a less reliable and proprietary technology.

Thats all I have to say...

needforspeed59 : What I meant is, I think cable was beating DSL's pants off, so Verizon does to the mats with FIOS causing cable to fight back with DOCSIS 3.0. It works both ways. Do you think Verizon would be investing billions in fiber if cable wasn't competing? There would be no motivation.
--
Great success!
