Re: [Need Info] How do I copy flash media streams?

Liveleak?
Use the "Download Video" link at the top of the video?
I was looking for a "freebie". I checked the "Download Video" link a long time ago. Their free download is limited to 90 seconds capture time.

I'll check out Real Player. I don't happen to have it on this computer.

Thank you,

Terry

Also check into FlashGet(download manager/accelerator).
On several flash sites, I have seen the little FG icon wanting to download the video for me - FlashGet is slao free!

From what I read FlashGet has become a freeware, although it has not always been. Version 1.9.6 of the software still comes with advertisement in the form of "FlashGet recommends", but it can be turned off in the options.

Cause for more concern, if confirmed, is free version FlashGet's support of adware.

I figured out how to download the videos using Real Player. I had to upgrade to get the option. Now is there a way to save the file as an avi instead of a real player file?

I use the fantastic Download Helper with Firefox. It has no time limit. I download many You Tubes video music and convert them to audio only. You can download TV Shows and convert to .avi with FLV to AVI converter. The recording is as good as that being shown.

It has special sites You Tube among them where it works. Plus its free.

I'm doing the same thing with YouTube video/music clips. I find a favorite tune with really good audio (cause some posts are much better than others) and save it as audio only (ditch the video). On the other hand, LiveLeak (and others) have a lot of unique and bizarre video only that I'd like to save.

www.save2pc.com works great with IE7 on YouTube, but is pretty much limited to that.

Guess I'll have to seriously consider loading Firefox to take advantage of all the good, free stuff that works on multiple websites.

Thanks for the info on this guys, I was pretty much clueless before stumbling upon this thread a few days ago.

If I want an audio track I use Sound Forge. Great program. I can edit the track and save it as a wave, mp3 etc.

I haven't tried it with IE7 yet but you might want to check out: »www.orbitdownloader.com/

I wouldn't call it "easy" or intuitive on how to set it up and get it going but it works like a dream with Firefox and supposedly has full support for IE. I've used it with a number of sites (including artist specific sites) and so far, so good.

It has very good reviews. I'll install it and give it a go this weekend when I have time. This may be the one!

This auto converts to avi as it downloads. it isn't free though.

I got mine free when giveawayoftheday.com gave it away, works pretty good and can get some things other downloaders can't.
