| Need help in setting up wireless network
I am trying to help a small non-profit agency set up their 3 new computers with SBC wireless. They currently have a DSL modem wired to one computer and the SBCglobal connection works fine. To go wireless, should I get a 2701 2 wire and replace the modem or should I get a router and keep the modem? Suggestions please.
Thanks, Dave |

As long as the brand's fairly well known, it should be fine for your purposes. |

1 edit | reply to ddugger Wireless routers are a nice convenience if you are not able to run Cat5 ethernet cables. I prefer Cat5 over wireless, if you don't need the wireless, say for a laptop. Then you don't have to mess with wireless interference or encryption. A wired router and some cables may be a less expensive alternative to a wireless setup. Wireless will require a wireless router and wireless adapters on the computers. |
