Wow, where did everyone go?

I hope you're just enjoying the summer! So far, I can't find anything to complain about it! I'm enjoying TRYING to take care of my plants and lawn. (Though some plants didn't like me and I needed to get replacements) and I like my job too but I don't get to "play" with anyone at night since I'm working. Oh well, the money is better then I've had for a long time.
Enjoy your summer, but let us know what your doing.

I was away for over a week, got back late Tuesday. Exhausted and trying to catch up on work/life since then...

You can read my journal if you want to find out about where I've been I've only written up to day 4 of the trip so far though.

DUH! It's season!
Sneaky bastards at work have key-loggers... I check the Department of Employment every night . News, weather, sports and work.

Yup, it is!
I'm kind of surprised how well things are going here. I expected it to be some what slower because of the gas and economy. But, to my surprise, that isn't the case.

Did they say something about that?

hello world

trying to learn more telecom stuff to figure out why my RCN connection drops off at midnight lately. this looks like the right place! you geeks are so smart

could you folks in Maine send me some non-salmonella tainted tomatoes...my BLT isn't the same without the T! LOL

wanted to go out to Georges Island in Boston Harbor but afraid of those terrible thunderstorms we've been getting. They used to disapate in Worcester but now come down the PIKE. Maybe I'll try the CAT to Nova Scotia next weekend.

The IT Weasle for work was bragging about all the security and keyloggers etc. he has installed to find "Unacceptable computer use". Not that they can't be defeated (I turn them off), I don't go any place I need a password. He's such a weenie.

I'll be happy to send tomatoes! My BLTs are just fine with ALL the Bs, Ls, and Ts!
I can't help you with the RCN connection. I'm Time Warner... after their take over of Alelphia.

Frankly, I don't blame you for not going out in a thunderstorm! You never know.
I just lost a couple thousand dollars because of one.
My TV, PS3, Yamaha surround stereo, Clothes washer, and a laptop. Gone! Bye, bye. Because lighting struck too close and the electric grid got hit.
But the Insurance will pay!

2003 we had a Tstorm hit. Had to replace 54"Hitachi big screen, Sony home theatre, wireless home landline phone, computer modem and the jacuzzi hasn't been the same since!

Cost us $500 deductible to get all new electronics....but that was before plasma TVs so we got another 57" big screen. Good luck and document, document, document. Do your shopping to gather prices to submit to insurance company. Keep newspaper insert ads to prove current prices.

I have pictures of all the items damaged.
I keep my household pictures updated and on file for any such events.

However, my loss will be the 500 dollar deductable I have.

I have had no IP since last Thursday... FairPoint bought the farm. Add in thunderstorms that make one think of Armageddon, and it has been confusing around here.

Summer place in Camden has no power, and I hope that the well wasn't hit- the caretaker isn't sure, and won't know until the electrician surfaces later this week.

I leave soon to see my family in the Caribbean... I will pack up my work, my diving gear, and go. It is almost the end of the major tourist season there, and things will settle into a pattern of reasonable peace and quiet.

I am still hoping for an airfare that won't kill me... it used to cost me about 600 bucks round to St. Maarten or Puerto Rico, and then next to nothing to Tortola, but it has gotten very expensive with the fuel costs so high...

Enjoy your trip.
