They are both thieves, both deserve to rot in prison and I contend they will continue to do so until they receive parole or finish their sentences.

The fallacy that the father is too old to be in prison is an appeal to pity.

It also is another fallacy when saying 'people like him'.

Being old and no matter how many people like you doesn't change the fact. A criminal is a criminal is a criminal.

Any way you spin it.
