[Serious] Hard life in the islands taking toll on family

signmeuptoo : Well, most of you know that my significant other is overseas in The Philippines. You know that life there is hard because there are very few jobs, things except low quality food and junky housing are expensive (a computer that will sell here for $400 will sell there for at least $1000), and because of the incessant heat, humidity, and poor food people end up dieing very young by US standards. As most of you know, I have lost both "mother" and "father" "in Law".

Well, my girl's brother's wife's mom just had a major stroke. Fortunately, she is getting at least some of the care she needs. A family member works and someone overseas is helping too, but my significant other has seen one health emergency after another over the last 3 years. My girl is currently being treated for a rat bite, and me, tick bites! Seems that health is the one thing that really takes a toll on human happiness if you know what I mean.

If you have a spare moment today and tomorrow, will you consider a prayer or positive thought toward Love's mom? Love is one of the sweetest people I know and to see her suffer seeing her mom, at only 60, in mortal danger (sure, here in the US a stroke isn't a necessarily death sentence, but this is another place), saddens me.

Thank you for your time, and sorry for a negative sounding post, but just asking for some positive energy from those of you that are willing.

God Bless you all.
--
You know your life has gotten "DICEY" when it turns into an episode of LOST, like my ex wife, who I swear is one of "The Others".
