Subsequent to my first response to you, I've located and read (carefully, to the best of my non-lawyer abilities, though it's not as cryptic as others I've read) the EULA.
There ya go! I knew you'd figure it out sooner or later. You were able to say how SAS's EULA was better than others without knocking Symantec's, or anyone elses for that matter.
Your praise of SAS should stand on it's own merit.

I find verbiage pertaining to single computer use, to being allowed backup to a single source. Nowhere do I find reference expressly forbidding free version use on a single, "work-based", machine. If my reading was accurate, while it may not be an infraction, technically .. it probably is ethically, as the download link does clearly contain "Home".
When a 'backup' is deployed it's no longer a 'backup' & you should know that.

* I'm not an SAS reseller (we'll save whether I should be for another discussion).
If you pay close attention to this friendly advice you may get what you want.
"Why would a company pay for something they are already getting for free?"

* My post motivation was dual, to extol the capabilities of SAS and cast light into the "single tool (SAV, in this instance) isn't sufficient" corner. Folks who are still "tool-based" security minded, like myself, are better served to layer their defenses.

* If sharing my thoughts about SAS' effectiveness at successfully accomplishing it's intended, designed, mission causes others to try the free version, or purchase the Pro version, or make a donation to facilitate it's continued development. Excellent!
That's all good & fine. But don't do it on the reputation of another company, even if it's true.
It makes you look small & hurts your credibility.

Do I believe that's absolutely true? Probably not, but you know how us smart asses can be.
Yeah. Won't comment further on this either. SipSizzurp has already tied a ribbon on it.
I was disappointed with the lack of creativity in that, but considering the source, not surprised by it.

Ah. At last, the crux of your blathering. My display of SAV getting it's ass kicked, yet again. It figures. You're a user! A thin skinned user at that. You're in good company .. most are. Well, don't be upset with me! Hell, take it up with Symantec, or switch to something that's better. Start with AVG.

Horse crap! Look, tell you what .. in any malware fight you're in (using Symantec, you should be well seasoned) that you want to post about, you feel free to name all the tools you used, both successfully and not, and I'll continue to do the same. Got it??

If anything is getting it's ass kicked in this thread, it's not Symantec. A search of my threads will show that I've been an AVG user for years. You won't find a post of mine that says anything derogatory about SuperAntiSpyware either.
Accusing someone of having an agenda when in fact it's you that clearly has the agenda is something you shouldn't be too proud about.

You edited finer points of your story but 20 user accounts sharing one machine, all with admin permissions? All machines at that place set like that? I'm surprised there are no more support calls in general, either that or all other users expect for those using machine A know what not to do on a computer

Just what the hell's that supposed to imply?!? That I went back, as this thread has progressed, and altered it?

I posted at 09:24:06 ..

Edited a spelling error at 09:25 ..

and, Cabal posted the first response at 09:30:09 ..

How many "finer points" do you figure I altered 54 seconds after the original post?!?
