| Grande doesn't measure up. I have Grande Communications in my sub-division and it doesn't measure up. The phone service is fine and the internet available is good, up to 12mb. Where they are not competitive is on the television. While DirecTV, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FIOS, and AT&T Uverse all offer some flavor of Video On Demand, Grande does not. When I have asked then, "why don't you have it yet?" They say they dont have the money to provide that type of bandwidth, at this time. Naturally, they have no where near as many HD Channels as its competitors.
I really wan't U-verse, but the only copper in my neighborhood is Grande and there is no fiber. So I could move to DirecTV, but with no bundled services at that point, my rates would increase so drastically, it would no longer be worth it.
It is especially frustrating, where every other subdivision around me in Frisco, is AT&T, and can get what I want. Please AT&T, start running lines in my neighborhood or Grande is for sell, just buy them. |
