Time Fire :
said by tnbrown002 :

Your information is incorrect. I actually do still work at Comcast in the Plymouth, Michigan office. The reason that no one has been able to get in touch with me is, because I am on a paid leave of absence pending all the hype behind my presentation. No, it was not a hoax, and I was very forreal. No, I don't consider myself "disgruntled", just tired of the BS. Further, I don't believe in throwing the rock and hiding your hand. I don't have a reason to be embarassed by what I said. It is the truth. Clearly, you don't work at Comcast, or you are in a region doing better than mine. At any rate, your information was not correct.

Finally, you begin to differentiate your region from the rest, but in my opinion - here is the main reason why you come off as a disgruntled employee: you don't seem to realize that you work at a call center. If you're calls aren't new sales, then they will be about service issues or billing. That's what the call center was designed for and those are the type of calls that you were hired to manage. Now, BELIEVE ME, I understand how it feels to work 8 (and for some, 10) hour days hearing nothing but service problems and missed appointments, but let's talk about the grand scheme of things here. Do you honestly believe that EVERY tech that works for Comcast is skipping appointments? Do you honestly believe that every Comcast customer in Michigan is experiencing tiling, ingress, CDV problems, VOD-errors, etc.?

The thing is, you're actually dealing with a small portion of the Comcast customer base here, and it seems to be leading you to think that "if the customers I speak to are experiencing this problem, then surely EVERYBODY is experiencing this problem. CQE Baby!" Happy customers generally don't call in, and if they do - chances are they're adding services and the call is getting routed to the sales department.

I will admit that AHT is generally a stupid thing if you're a service rep and pushing CDV is an awful idea if you weren't able to resolve a problem over the phone, but all your powerpoint tells me is that your complaining because you're specific call center sucks (to be blunt)...and if that's true, your call center isn't and shouldn't be a representation of other call centers in Michigan or even throughout America.

fiberguy : The show is clearly not a "leak" and maybe not a hoax, HOWEVER, there is a way to make a point about problems from a company, and to WHINE is not the way, you lose credibility. (Conversely it's why so much of what is said on this site, I pay no mind to. There is a right and wrong way to get your point across. when it involves anger, you can be sure up to about 50% is probably exaggeration.

As rockotman said, Verizon has issue too. In So Cal, there is a city cal Helensdale. A very small area of about 3000 home build in the middle of nowhere. Verizon serves this area. Of the 3 lines they had in their house, Verizon was made aware of service issues out there. VZ knew, stated, and made it clear they needed to replace the underground lines. The issue went on for 6 months and VZ never responded. They STARTED To work on the lines, and abandonded the project. Today, the lines are all so bad that they can't be used. Their response to the customer was "We can't supply the 3rd line any longer. (Wrong answer) Second, "we are not going to be replacing the underground facilities anytime soon." (Wrong answer) and "Here's a cell phone for your use. We're not sure if we can replace that line" (Again, WRONG answer!)

The bottom line is that it's not cost effective for them to replace their facilities and refuses to. The PUC is involved and still getting no where. Verizon has a responsibility to serve every home in it's area, BY HARD WIRE, not a cell phone with poor reception in the home.

They get tax payer money to fund these hard to reach areas and needs to follow the law. "Hey Verizon, can you hear me now? STOP BREAKING THE LAW!" The bottom line is that in this case, VZ "REFUSES" to do their legal obligation - this isn't even about having a hard time in fixing, they're not even attempting. I hope they make FiOS customers happy at the expense of others, because here is just one example of how not to run a company.

Poor customer service on cable - it happens.. lack of response from phone, happens all the time. Also, the tech didn't do as much as the previous techs did to find one. At many points he would simply pause for several minutes (not while waiting on something either) to watch my television. Unlike most techs that come to my house, he did not even check the little cable input(or whatever) box on the side of my home. This has been a consistent source of problems for me in the past. All he did was do the barebones; he check the little modem diagnostics (which I even did),replaced the ethernet and eMTA modem, and said you need to have your computer checked out when speeds failed to improve, and then left. I didn't want to suggest checking outside b/c I didn't want to piss either he or myself off. He scheduled no maintenance or supervisor, so I guess I'll be paying fifty bucks. Even when tech visits were bad, they would at least schedule for (or at minimum contact) a supervisor. He didn't even contact one. Do y'all think that I was not agressive enough? Normally I am, but I really don't like dealing with them after my past experiences so I gave up without a fight this time. But seriously, in this case, could a little more assertiveness made this visit worth the fifty dollars?

maxpower : Is this supposed to be a joke or something? I don't get it. In your other thread you claimed to have wasted a whole day waiting for a Comcast tech, but you have the free time to post this? Your link doesn't even point to a powerpoint presentation. I don't get it.

The first appointment came and went, nobody showed up or called. Set up another appointment, but they did call to cancel that one…”

--
“Say no to fear.
