| Bad idea.
What if I want to reply to two different posts in the thread, and maybe it is a slow thread - only one or two posts per day. I would have to wait a full day before I could post my second reply.

Yes, I realize some people accidently double post, and that is what you are attempting to avoid. But I think the cost, in terms of other disadvantages, is too high. The existing check for identical posts should be stopping most accidental double posts. -- AT&T dsl; Westell 327w modem/router; SuSE 10.1; firefox 2.0.0.14 |

I'll often make multiple posts to threads if I am responding to multiple posts.
I don't see what this would accomplish. |

Is this an error message from another BBS software package? If so, which one? I have never seen this as a feature. |

i visit a couple of VERY basic forums related to gardening. they use almost no controls other than they won't allow you to post 2x in the same thread back to back. and it REALLY sux when you need to add soemthing or respond to someone else. -- Lack of Preparation on YOUR Part does NOT Constitute an Emergency on Mine! |

Many times you post to two reply,Also "Instead of disallowing another post, system should automatically merge replys in to one post and just have replied to x before to comments, replied to y before the comments."
Then what? it places the update at the bottom of page and you have to read it all over or it adds but leaves the post so no one sees your redly. Bruce |
