Re: (too old to update) Doggie afraid of thunder..... Do you have a cage for him? Get him used to sleeping in the cage and then when he gets anxious put him in the cage. That's what I did with one of my dogs. She got to the point where when she heard fireworks she would go lay down in her cage instead of running around.
Short of that the best thing you can do is ignore him, if you act differently during loud noises you're just going to validate his fear. It's a living being and this is just one of the things you have to put up with having a dog. -- If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin, and in the end, despair. |
