Re: Ivan is an idiot yeah, that is why I said "US". And even world wide the iPhone isn't getting "crushed". It's not even available in all of Europe and even the old model with no features, high price, no 3G outsells hugely popular handsets like the N95.
As the overpriced and hobbled iPhone beat the combined sales of all Microsoft handsets in the US just months after release, the iPhone 3G will do the same in the rest of the world (now that it will finally get sold worldwide).
And again...we're talking not of iPhone beating a few popular models. We're discussing whether or 1 or 2 iPhone models beat the ENTIRE combined sales of what, 60, 70 WM handsets available? That's an insane accomplishment that even the biggest proponents of iPhone couldn't have imagined possible so quickly.
Apple isn't going to give WM a 2nd look. With 3G, Exchange. 3rd party apps and push their sights are now set on RIM and RIM should be quaking in their boots. Within 1 year, just 2 models of iPhone have turned the smartphone industry on its head and has sent the biggest players scrambling for cover. |

If you want BlackBerry, you have a lot of choices, same with a Nokia Symbian smartphone or a Windows Mobile device. This distorts sales statistics- Symbian may outsell OS X smartphones, but because there's only one iPhone it messes things up when you look at particular models. But to me, this is really a disadvantage of the iPhone... Though, considering the different flavors of iPod available, I think at some point there may be a few choices of iPhone at some point. |
