 | Good, another alternative It's often difficult to use the PS3 to stream videos across a network with third party apps like Windows Media Player or TVersity. WMP doesn't have a very intuitive interface when it streams the media, and TVersity has some show stopping bugs. For example, certain encoded videos I have will crash the media server outright.
It will be interesting to see what Google brings to the table. Maybe the same on-the-fly encoding TVersity offers with more stability and supported formats?
I just wish Sony would open up the PS3 more to allow third parties to put XBMC on it. I still keep my old XBox around because that little thing will play anything I throw at it. |
