| Need some recommendation on Whitewater rafting spots
I never done it before but planning to get a few of my buds to go with me for the weekend. I search online and saw this place
»www.rivertrail.com/Rafting.html
Price and place looks reasonable. Any recommendation out there? Thanks. |

| After the spring rush there's not really that much water in the rivers around Harper's Ferry. You might want to check »www.wvrafting.com/outfitters.cfm . I know that the New and Gauley Rivers are known to be excellent whitewater rivers. There's also »www.riverriders.com/marylandwhitewater.htm .
Other places in western Maryland can be found here: »www.riverfacts.com/states/md.html
You can look for the easier ones and the site will have links to outfitters.

| reply to AMF I can't speak personally, but a good friend of mine has gone up to the "yock" river several times and had a great time. Here's one of many options: »www.laurelhighlands.com/ I don't know which tour company he used but he said it's a lot of fun.
Yock is short for Youghiogheny which is a PITA to spell |

| reply to AMF I only went once and I can't remember if it was the higher or lower Yock. We went in May so the water level was good (and cold). Once the winter snow is gone, the water levels really start to drop. You'll have to check around to see if the levels are still good for rafting. -- RIP my baby Buttons 1/15/94-2/9/07 Buttons, Buttons video
