dtv converter verses hdtv

hopefully the tv's them selves will comedown, or even the sdtv's, i dont want another atapter for tv, unless they make the adapter into a vcr/dvd combo unit. i dont watch tv enough to warrent paying alot of money, and i agree with the switch, i just think more needs to be done in lowering the cost of the tv's then the converters.
