Frellin' HOTTT!

Dang, we may just break the 1896 record here today.

It's over 90F right now at around 1pm..and highest temps usually don't hit around 5pm.

Oh, and our Hoopfest is getting slammed...hottest temps ever downtown for that. Imagine playing B-Ball in 100F temps on blacktop.

Thank God I have AC, or I'd be crispy in this 1910 brick building that gets sun ALL day. Oh, and I live on the top floor.

If this is summer, perhaps I should move to AK. Ugh.

I lived in an old brick building for a couple years (with no A/C) it protects you from the 1 day heat waves, but once that brick gets hot, it's like an oven around the clock.
My little window shaker is working hard today (mostly here to protect 4 computers in a 9x10 room, but on day like today, I start it early, put a big fan in the door to the house, and try and keep it tolerable until sundown.

That took some getting used to when I lived in Spokane.... I'm used to the hottest part of the day being much earlier.

Then there's that being able to read a newspaper outside at 10pm in the summer thing.....

We've got baseboard heating all over the house. Pretty much if the room has a door on it, it has a heater. The previous owners had converted to digital thermostats. We made it a point to be gone as much of the day as possible since it was almost unbearable yesterday, and that was starting from a much cooler base. When the weather gets like that, we make it a habit of buttoning it up when the sun comes up and trying to keep as much of the heat out as possible.

We didn't get home until about ~9:45. The house was 85F everywhere but the bathroom. ~91F in there.

Brutal. Absolutely brutal.

The s.o. and I went to the Taste of Tacoma at Pt. Defiance Park on Sunday afternoon. Far too crowded and far too hot!

She was trying to figure out which gyro she wanted to purchase. I gently poked her in the ribs and said "Can you please hurry up? I have a rivulet of sweat running down my spine and filling up my shorts!!!"

Ok, I longer like the great ball o'fire in the sky. It is too hot. and muggy. I hate muggy. If I wanted heat I would go down south. It is currently cooler in San Diego (where we will be in approx 2 weeks) then it is here. So how that is so wrong.

Where is our normal summer of low 70s and a nice breeze?

Here the sky is almost completely pearly white (strange clouds / overcast today) with the sun still shining through brightly. It's just wrong, so so wrong.

I'm hoping the weather breaks a bit and some of those isolated t-storms come our way...
