Everyone has their hands in the cookie jar

I'll tell you what part of the scam is.

The official government DTV hotline is 888-DTV-2009

If you happen to call 800-DTV-2009, you're going to end up with a sales pitch for satellite service.

Nowhere has the Federal government stepped in to squash the misinformation campaign being waged by cable and satellite companies. Where is the OTA broadcasters in this? They don't care because if you choose to go with satellite or cable, they still get paid retransmission fees from the providers.

Everyone wins except the end user. A moral raping and financial fleecing of the American consumer that is otherwise ignored by Uncle Sam.
