How hard is it for them to bounce of their database and make sure the people they're sending out availability letters or emails too can actually get the service? Not very, in my experience. |

| reply to jsinaiko said by jsinaiko :Thanks Jon! I've dealt with David on a number of issues - once or twice on the phone. He's always been great. But the fact that he needs "a guy" shows how disconnected the whole roll-out is. Well he's not located here. Not sure what his position is exactly so he may not be able to help himself directly. Guess my point was that he knows the right people to get shit done. I think getting to the right people is 90% of the battle.
You'll get nowhere stuck in some customer service queue or on some stupid list. |

He can probably tell you whats really going on. When It came available in my area I contacted him and he followed me through my connection process and it went very smoothly.
I guess he's "got a guy". |

| reply to Jon "In your area but you aren't wired up for it yet" whatever the *&%@ that means. It was just the sales folks, who as we all know, don't know squat. Maybe thwat there are VRADs in the area (we already know that) but mine isn't fired up yet? Who knows? AT&T seems to act like the Soviet phone company might have. A mystery wrapped in an enigma.
And hey - as I write this reply I notice I just got ANOTHER email notifying me that yes indeed, Uverse is HERE!
The sales person said she would "put me on the list" whatever the hell that means.
Maybe I'll post this episode in the Uverse forum and see whst the responses are. What do you think? -- Illegitimati non carborundum

AT&T is rolling this out in the worst possible way. No method, no coordination, it's really bad. Is the service that bad too? If it is I'll stay with Comcrap for TV, at least it works most of the time. Why can't you get it? |

| reply to jsinaiko You know, honestly, ever since I've gotten my line issues fixed, Comcast has been rock solid. My U-Verse service was really good when I had it, but now Comcast has really upped the ante with the D3 upgrades. My speed and connection quality is even better than my U-Verse ever was. Even though U-Verse is starting to get rolled out, they are too late for me. I think I shall stick with Comcast until AT&T can work out a few kinks.
1) Improve your customer support... a lot! 2) Let us connect in some sort of bridged mode. No, DMZplus does not count. 3) Fix the interleaving annoyance. 23ms on your first hop just doesn't sit well with me. 4) Offer more competitive speeds on Comcast's level, ergo, pipe fiber right into our homes.
That is all. |

It looks like a vrad is going in at the other end of my alley in Lincoln Square, by Lawrence and Western. An unmarked van was working on it this morning, and it was first installed 1-2 weeks ago. Still no power. No labels identifying it as AT&T owned. Funny they are being so convert about it. is it on the light pole..or on the ground ? -- Looking for Updated Hi-Def News?
