Re: Plan price The iPhone is a status symbol, and a hot one right now. Similar to the PS3 a couple of Christmases ago. We all saw people paying 2x to 3x retail price for those things on Ebay.
I know here in Canada, a lot of people switched from Bell Mobility to Rogers just so they could run an unlocked iPhone (EBay for $600US - $800US) or a look alike. Never mind that at the time, the iPhone wasn't fully supported, and some of the features didn't work right over here, they were just happy enough to have the overpriced thing hanging from their hip.
By having a iClone in their official lineup, they can head off some of the migration. At least until, Apple decides whether to introduce a CDMA version of the iPhone. |
