Belkin support just escaleted my support issue, they asked me if the UK firmware worked and if it did they would see about developing the same for the US market. Better late than never i guess. |

| reply to dlnqt I've been having the same problem as everyone else and tried using the pre-release firmware to see if it would fix the problem.
I play World of Warcraft and after the update to 1.00.16, I logged in and felt like everything was working fine...then I got disconnected about 20-25 seconds after logging in. I attempted to log in again, and got immediately disconnected. I basically repeated this process about 3-4 more times with the same result.
I *THEN* proceeded to kill the ntp process, logged in, and was not disconnected. It's been a good 10 minutes since I've disconnected. I'll let everyone know if it works out.
For sure though...the pre-release UK firmware did *NOT* work for me. =/ |

Lately I have been getting random disconnects even though the network shows available and full signal strength. I wonder whether a strong neighbor's network is causing interference (one of my neighbor's network shows a 29% signal strength) on my Rosewill N1 Draft 2.0 adapter. The adapter sees 17 networks which is nice considering I live in a suburban area with single family homes that are not close together!
Yesterday my wireless connection was fine all day! This evening, without any changes, it disconnected on me 3 times in 15 minutes or so after being fine most of the evening (several hours) without a single disconnect.
These are NOT the 2 hour disconnects (I am no longer getting those since killing the ntp process).
Any ideas on waht could be causing these disconnects (some kind of interference)? Anyone else in the same boat by any chance?
This is on Vista with a Rosewill N1 wireless adapter. I wonder whether the extra N1 range comes at a price - i.e. seeing more networks and potentially having one of then interfere with mine.
I have noticed that the wireless connection doesn't like it when the router is broadcasting on channel 11, but it is NOT on that. It is set to Auto and is always on channel 1.
Protected mode is disabled for best performance (maybe I could try enabling that?).
Bandwidth is set to 20+40MHz for best performance.
SSID broadcast is disabled.
WPA2-PSK with AES encryption.
I have 'MAC address control' enabled to allow only my two wireless adapters. Haven't tried MAC address filtering which is the same thing as far as I can tell???
This is frustrating considering this is their latest and most expensive router. The wireless adapter has great reviews. |

Has anyone in the US with version 2 of the Belkin N1 Vision router tried updating with the UK firmware fix? If so, has it caused any problems, and has it fixed the 2-hour disconnect when the time sync occurs? |

Had the same problem with the .16 release update the router refuses to connect to the modem at the 2hr mark now requiring both to be powered on and of... went back to .15 and i use my old way at least its stable till i reboot. And as to the belkin run around yeah it blows, products look and sound superb let down by shody support. |

| reply to dlnqt We've had this disconnection problem for months now and, despite both my son and I being Cisco qualified, we could not resolve it. None of the Beta Firmware upgrades helped, the NTP server 'kill' did nothing and as for Belkin's Helpdesk! They suggested changing our SSID...! Eh?
Anyway, I was having one last look at the settings before packing it up in its box and telling Belkin I was returning it for a full refund, when I thought I would try one last thing. I spotted the QoS setting, which was on by default. Unchecking it and re-booting has given us a Router which has now been working faultlessly for a week - no drop-ots, no re-boots.
It may not be an answer for everyone, but it seems to have worked for us. It might be worth a try though, just to prove if it can solve the issue for you. Not being a software/firmware expert I can't say why. Maybe someone out there can explain? |

@verizon.net | reply to dlnqt Just got a new N1 Vision via warranty. It's a version 2000! Boots in only 28 seconds.
Came with firmware 2.00.04 - which is newer than what's on the US website.
Question - QoS is grayed out in the 'on' position. Any suggestions. |
