So it seems you are afraid to login huh
We are not crying, just transcending the real picture of the wireless market in Canada and our opinion on the so-called iPhone "plans".

I guess thats the Rogers way: hit & run than hide (your tag says "@rogers.com")

Yes, very different. Here we have choices. There you live in a quasi-socialist government that has made a restrictive environment for competition and has allowed one company to control the market. So, yes, the market is much different but I'll keep ours thanks.

BOUAHAHHAHAHAHHA

Cause Ma Bell was NOT allowed to REFORM by the Bush administration ?! Canada is NOT a socialist country. Hell, the only thing even close to socialism, is the Quebec province. But Canada ?! If it truly was to be a socialist country as you claim, the government would have never allowed Robers to buy Microcell/Fido back in 2004.

Nothing to do with quasi socialism, it's all about capitalist greed and corruption. The lack of competition is largely attributible to one simple fact ... a population approximately 9 times smaller than that of the USA.

The problem here is that we have one sole GSM provider using 2 different brands. To build out a second provider is costly.

Even in areas where our two major CDMA providers compete, they do so often by sharing towers or even with roaming agreements to make their own networks appear seamless.

The other problem we suffer is becoming commonplace in the US as well ... this idea that being "competitive" means to be essentially "on a par with your competition". So there's little advantage to do a lot better than the competitor ... You cut your price, they cut their price so our relative market shares stay the same, SO, instead we nudge prices up instead, and they nudge theirs up, so we can nudge ours up too. The idea of competition has become so perverted.

Then the idea of opening a competitive company simply means start a company and if you're moderately successful, you'll get bought out. That's what happened to Fido and Mike.

Free Market competition these days is a joke. Its really called "carve out our niche and milk our customers as long as we can get away with it" and if someone becomes too competitive, we'll just buy them out, or hit them with anti-trust suits or some other legal deviant thing.

Quebec is socialist? Boiscoke (sic)? Right-wing economics. Being a gay drug addict does not make one a leftist. Charest? Frenchie Mike Harris. Dumont? Maurice Duplessis II. Bouchard? Mulroney cabinet minister.

There's never been socialist government in Quebec, and there's not been social democracy since the days of Levesque.

The only competitive socialists in Quebec are struggling to drive the PQ out of Montreal.

Regulatory provisions intended to protect the national elite against foreign competition has nothing to do with socialism.
