And guess what - they are. No kidding. I have a childhood friend that I love to death, but listen to what he just did.
1) He has a kid and still lives at home. 2) He JUST renewed his Verizon contract for 2 years and purchased a Samsung Glyde. 3 weeks ago. 3) He decided he didn't like the Glyde, so he canceled his Verizon contract. 4) He's going phoneless until the iPhone 3G is released, at which time he'll sign another contract with AT&T and purchase an iPhone.
Even with all the limitations the iPhone has, he likes the way it "looks" ... yeah, he's a hippy artist too.
I just don't understand some people. |

Apple fans might be willing to spend a premium for the Apple name but they're not masochists that bend over for Robers.

Do tell, what limitations do you speak of and with what other phone are you comparing it to ?

They are pretty well documented if you look around the internet at reviews of the phone. |

Did you see that backlash that this has made already ? Many of those pple signing the petition and bitchin everywhere ARE Apple fan boys. If Robers don't change their plans, chances are the iPhone will be a flop in Canada.

How about the fact that there already IS an MMS application for the iPhone already ? I think you should be the one redoing your internet homework cause those reviews you read must be really old.

Adi My $149 Moto Q9c supports email, (Exchange email too), but somehow manages to support MMS and SMS without the need for a 3rd party app.
I'm talking out of the box, not adding apps. |

My PC also happens to support PS/2 ports out of the box without any third party expansion card. Oh wait, PS/2 is an old ass tech that nobody in their right mind uses anymore as everyone switched to the new hotness : USB.
Get my drift ? Same thing with MMS. It's old. It's aniti consumer. The carriers charge SEPARATELY FOR IT ON TOP OF THE DATA PALN. E-mail is DATA. It's included in the DATA plan so you don't get charged extra for it.

MattAll noise, no signal.Premium join:2003-07-20 Jamestown, NC kudos:12 | MMS is supported on every phone on the market, except the iPhone. Email is not a replacement for it as every phone doesn't support email.
You sure are the Apple fanboy aren't you? The iPhone is great at web browsing and mediocre or terrible at everything else. Name one thing the phone does better than a competing model phone other than browse the web? |

Again, if you really need to get raped by carriers like Robers that charge extra for MMS compared to DATA, there ARE apps out there that allow you to do just that.
As for what's better on the iPhone, oh i don't know :
1) E-mail 2) Gaming 2) Music 3) Video
Hell, the entire UI is superior to anything out there. It's sad at the same time that it's 1 year since the iPhone has been on the market and the UI on other phones still sucks compared to it. Nothing comes close even close to it.

Gaming? Really? How advanced can Sudoku get?
Music? Have fun listening to it in mono since the iPhone doesn't support stereo bluetooth. You could always attach a wired set of headphones though. Very high tech.
Video? What video? It doesn't even support flash. Oh, you can download movies through iTunes or Youtube, not over WiFi or the Edge or HSPDA network though. Yay for hard-wired walled gardens!
The UI is superior, but I prefer functionality over a sexy look and the iPhone simply isn't functional for anything other than web browsing. |
