| regarding westell router
Hi I have a westell 327W router from Verizon and I would like to use it in such a way that it acts as a wireless router, with input being the internet via ethernet.
I moved to a new place and there, they already have cable internet from Comcast. So I would like to connect this router to their modem (motorola) so that i can also get wireless service.
I would like to place this router behind the modem so that i can get wireless service from that comcast link...how do i do it ??
The problem is, this router doesn't have any ethernet port that acts as input...I only see output ethernet ports and DSL ports..
How do i configure it so that it can be connected to the modem from Comcast and I enjoy the wireless service ?? |

nwrickert sand groper Premium,MVM join:2004-09-04 Geneva, IL | You have to use ethernet port 1 for the WAN port (i.e. to connect to your cable modem). There should be labels on the ports. -- AT&T dsl; Westell 327w modem/router; SuSE 10.1; firefox 2.0.0.14 |

Hi, I went through the steps that you had referred at »Westell Equipment Forum FAQ »Guide to Using 327w as a router for Comcast.
However I cannot find the option, "Static Host Assignment" and I got stuck up after the following steps
I am attaching the screen images so that it will be easy. By the way, there isn't Advanced WAN option too...Only "Detect WAN configuration" is there and it simply tries to detect WAN. When I say cancel, it reboots...
Will you please kindly let me know where do I need to make changes ?
YOur help will be highly appreciated...Thank you |

| They must have changed the firmware. What I see is very different from those screens.
I am not seeing where to make the changes on your screens. Perhaps they have removed that option. -- AT&T dsl; Westell 327w modem/router; SuSE 10.1; firefox 2.0.0.14 |

nwrickert sand groper Premium,MVM join:2004-09-04 Geneva, IL | I don't know of any.
Perhaps somebody else who has that firmware is reading the thread and will comment (I hope). -- AT&T dsl; Westell 327w modem/router; SuSE 10.1; firefox 2.0.0.14 |
