It's only going to get worse.
It wouldn't be happening a tall if peole would quit being so willfully ingorant about everything. Hell this isn't rocket science. I really really don't see what all the "confusion" is about. Let's see

Do you get TV fom cable or satelite? If yes NOTHING CHANGES.

Do you get through rabbit ears or rooftop antenna? If yes you either need to have a TV with a digital tuner or get a digital converter box.

See how easy that is.
You are so smart! What about FIOS-TV or whatever it is called. It is not cable or satelite.
If Grandpa can't figure out the whole converter box thing I'm sure he doesn't have FiOS. And if he does he has nothing to worry about.
