I wonder if they'll wind up next too all those Atari ET Cartridges? Although in Atari's case, ET WAS A good game once you figured out how it worked .. I saw proof on youtube..

Anyway, back to AOL. I am still holding on to my email address, due to the fact that my grandparents are tied into our account.... but we are no longer paying and choose the free option once it became available.

I've been of AOL for years now.. Ever since Optiumum came to our area around 2001...then Fios year later...God, do I NOT miss the days where a 10 MB movie trailer download took over night to get done.

I once ordered 80 aol cd's. They became frisbees etc over the years as i'm a mac user & aol for mac is stuck at an enhanced for osx blend of 5.0 and 6.0. from 2002

I think you can still order mass quantities of CDs even i just for fun.

Give me your address. I still have several laying around somewhere.

Our new desktop and notebook computers both had AOL pre-installed.

It's been years since I saw an AOL CD pop up in my mail box.
Many, many years even!!

Actually, did you know there is a FREE HSI service for gays? In LA and SF, a CLEC gives free 3 mb DSL service if you are a member of the Gay Organization.
Sounds like discrimination. I wonder what would happen if an ISP offered special discounts to only heterosexuals?

They have figured that out, that's why you're not seeing the coasters anymore......
Yep - same people have been saying AOL should have changed their model before they did - same people who are now saying AOL will die due to their changing their model for the better. In other words - typical hypocrite behaviour.

Since AOL chat rooms are the #1 place for gays to meet, they'll pay $11.99 since it is cheaper than going to the bar, the bathhouse, or Tom Cruise's, er, Leo DiCaprio or Jeff Gannon's home. I'm kidding on Tom Cruise; he sues over jokes about him and makes you join Scientology.

Yeah, when did they drop the price so low?

Last I remember were these stories:

»AOL Price hike
»AOL's Price-Hike Gamble

where their dial-up was > $20.

-- Rob
I remember $20 than it was $23 and than $25??!!! I think somewhere this year or last year they have drooped to $9.95

Same with me. With greater wireless coverage in rural areas, dial-up's becoming passe and AOL can't seem to figure that out.

*starts preparing AOL's coffin and grave.*

They claim that they'll cover up to $10,000 for identity theft and $1,000 for computer hardware should anything go on while connected to them. I call BS on this one!

There still is a $25.90 option for "premium services". It includes like security features, xDrive and insurance. Its absolutely ridiculous!
Does insurance covers if something happens to the computer
