You are still going to have to deal with mediacom, since your pings to the 10.20.65.1 hop are WAY to high. The average time should be under 35ms, which shows mediacom has a problem somewhere on your node. Are the ping times still high at 9pm? What are they like at 7am? As for the upstream power level getting up to 60, that's another problem, to many splitters, poor cable (including the drop from the pole or pedestal)<br>ADDED: If it's mediacoms modem, have them swap it out, no sense buying one.]]></description>

The smaller version works great but for some odd reason the bigger version started having problems. I have so far replaced over a dozen of them. <br><br>The same thing every time, reported down SNR is around 28-29 even though with a new modem it's just fine.<br><br>Also I would try without the router when troubleshooting.]]></description>

My connection to the wireless router in the appt is solid (using landline), but it's the hop beyond it that's been giving me issues since I've moved here last august. I originally thought it was just people on the network using up too much bandwith just making my life hell, but I figured that couldn't be right... after investigating further, I found that the router will lose connection to the DHCP, and to solve this problem for a short amount of time, I have to restart the router to regain a connection. I don't think the problem is with the router, but rather with the cable modem that's inside the appt. this piece of hardware on the event log shows A LOT  of errors. Connection to this piece of hardware just to view it settings is also not always available (will give Page can't be displayed error??)<br><br>2. Give a description of any home networking setup you may have. (i.e. router make/ model, hubs, adapters, etc.)<br>I live in an appt here in downtown, shared with all other tenants in the building.<br>Router is a Wzr2-G3000z router. This router was installed in September to replace an older linksys router in the appt. Running firmware V. 1.00_1.26<br><br>3. Modem make, model and firmware version.<br>Ambit 60678 EU cable modem<br>Hardware Version: 1.12<br>Software Version: 2.57.2033 <br><br>4. Signal levels found at &raquo;192.168.100.1 if applicable.<br>Downstream Receive Power Level: -3.3 dBmV <br>Downstream SNR: 29.3 dB <br>Upstream Transmit Power Level: 43.0 dBmV<br><br>My question is: is this problem from that cable modem, and do I contact my landlord about this issue and have them handle it, or go straight to mediacom for tech support? I just want to make sure that when I do need to contact tech support, I am doing everything possible to troubleshoot from my end, to not waste anyone's time.
