| $600 or $700 without contract???? What a crock -- I just read an article that said it costs Apple about $170 to produce the 8 GB version and about $190 to produce the 16 GB version. I thought there were still laws on price gouging? I guess not considering what's happened with gasoline, food, and everything else in this country. |

Do you NEED an iphone? no.
Do you need gas, milk, etc... somewhat more of a yes.

| i never recieved a subsidized phone to begin with, yet am not "upgrade" eligible because my contract was renewed in february08 for the 16gb iphone.
lame.
so i have to spend 499$ hu? ok, no sweat. Prices couldnt last long.
I just dont understand if i didnt get a free phone to start, why other people can be upgradeable and im not. sucky.
Will i pay it? yes, I want an iphone. I have a gophone now, if any one wants to deal with it, you can have it, its a piece of crap! (regular contract though) |

| Eligible You should be eligible for a new iPhone 3G. All current AT&T customers who have an active line with an iPhone registered to it are supposed to be eligible for the iPhone 3G upgrade subsidy. You may want to talk to a sales rep at a local corporate store. |

But that is what is confusing me. I have a family plan with 1 Iphone and one Tilt. I want to get the 3G-IPhone to replace the Tilt, but that line is nor eligible for the upgrade but the Iphone line is. So could I get the Upgrade and apply it to my Tilt line instead of the Iphone line and get the subsidy price??? |
