Looks like in house, but it's not ready yet. Will go in in stages. All the interface toys are being built to inter-operate with all types of phone. More of a contact management control panel from what I see.

Sounds like Voicewing to me, they even consider calls to Voicewing numbers to be 'in-network'. (Voicewing worked great, better than Vonage and CallVantage.)

I had Voicewing before switching to POTS with triple freedom bundle (bundle discounts were better). I paid $27.04 a month including taxes for Voicewing...wonder how much this will cost, and if they will bundle it nicely with tv/internet like POTS.

I'll be watching. I currently pay another service a monthly fee for VOIP features I missed from Voicewing. If this costs less than POTS + that other service I'll switch.

FiOS Digital Voice is set to launch in Maryland and Virginia on 9/9. It's a voip offering and is not VoiceWing. It will only be available to customer who live in a FiOS Digital Voice capable area. The central office has to be SIP enables. The FVAM is a wonderful tool to manager your telephony features that comes with the service.

At what price, and with which included features?
Can it replace the current phone service in a triple play?

Fios Digital Voice will be offered in either a double or triple play and pricing depends on the data speed. Stay tuned as we get closer to launch.

Will it offer advanced call features - like selectable call blocking? (Call filtering would be nice)

THAT would bring me back to VZ... I'd think their VOIP implementation in terms of call quality would be better than my current VOIP provider (VP). But I guess it really depends on how it is implemented.

Has anybody heard anything new about this? I logged into MyVerizon and there was a big advertisement about this service along with an FAQ but when I actually tried to sign up the page timed out. I couldn't find any kind of a price point either.

Yes I got te same thing when this was first posted and most recently so I guess they are keeping it close to the vest for now.

Voicewing is in a IP based technology. It does require a service call and additional equipment to be installed. It's kinda like Voicewing+IOBI

From all the forums and articles I've read, Voicewing and FiOS Digital Voice are TWO different products.

Other than that, not much is known about FiOS Digital Voice but Verizon has webpages describing the service (see link in first post) and it's speculative that it is VoIP service but with QoS on top within Verizon's network. No date has been given other than what I've read from Jeanne's post.

Looks like about $30/month more on a triple. That makes the phone component worth what, about $70? I don't think so.

What the hell are they smoking?

Look at the pix I posted. Looks like the 2 double play options are OK but the triple play has to have an error somewhere. It looks "exponential"...
