Is Verizon Next?

I wonder how long it is before Verizon offers this service? They have promised a new tower in this area for years and every time I contact the district engineer, it is pushed back a few months.

The township committee signed a lease at the DPW building, but Verizon has not applied to the planning board yet, so it is at least 10 months away. This device on Verizon would fill in a BIG hole for me.

Re: Is Verizon Next?

I wish I could find the reference, but Verizon is going to do something similar. I had seen it, quoted it but alas......now I cannot find the original.

So there is hope for you to get a femtocel in your home (I believe sometime this year).

Re: Is Verizon Next?

You'd think Verizon (along with "the new" at&t) would be reluctant to do this, as it could increase the number of people dropping the cash cow landline telephone for cellular-only- I suppose they figure that if people are going to drop the landline, it's better to have them on VZW than on Sprint or T-Mobile.

Re: Found it

Yea I saw a article a while back stating they were going to do it some time in 2008, but that is rather vague. So far nothing I can order and use.

Agreed, but I do think they will follow along just to remain competitive.

If you keep complaining, they will let you get out of your contract or if ENOUGHT people cry about it, they might do something.
