 Shaman stats

I was wondering if someone has the down and dirty calculations for Shaman? I know the rough estimates (2 STR = 4 AP, etc.) but what I'd like to get is the actual amount. Meaning 2 STR = 3.798 SP, yaddah yaddah.

Thanks in advance.

wowwiki.com has everything, but in case you can't get to it, here's pretty much what you're asking for.

* At level 70, it takes 25 agility to gain 1% to critical strike chance.
* At level 70, it takes 22 critical strike rating to gain 1% to critical strike chance.
* Your level's worth of agility will increase your chance to dodge by about 3% (e.g., +60 agility will give a level 60 shaman +3% to dodge).

* Every point of strength provides 2 melee attack power (e.g., +70 strength will give any shaman +140 AP).
o This means that every 7 strength provides 1 additional damage per second (e.g., +70 strength will give any shaman +10 DPS).
* Every point of strength increases the amount of damage you block with a shield.

* Every point of intellect adds 15 mana (MP).
* Your level's worth of intellect will increase your chance to crit with spells by about 1% (e.g., +60 intellect will give a level 60 shaman +1% to crit with spells; at level 70 it takes +70 int.)

* Every point of stamina adds 10 health (HP).

* Every 10 points of spirit regenerates 1 mana per second. This can also be described as "five spirit yields 1 mana per tick" or "2 spirit restores 1 mana per five seconds"

Gear upgrades for my Shaman
Tell me if you think this math is right. Bored at work and seeing the Merci piece that has the biggest upgrade for me by putting in variables. I have the chest and gloves in right now.

EDIT: I know I have Chain items down in the Guardian pieces, that will be corrected soon enough

EDIT 2: Also ignore the tabs at the bottom, most of this was taken from the same sort of Excel file I was doing for the Hunter .

Meaning "you need 'X' amount of +hit for T4, T5, T6 bosses"? If so, I'd like some hard facts and/or opinions too.

Shaman are just hunters who lost their bows and spent to much time with those magic mushrooms that you see growing all around them.

Anyone care to tell me how much honor, and how many of what token the Guardian's pieces are (for each) please? .

For the neck and rings I'm after the Triumph pieces, and the boots, bracers, belt I'm after "Linked".

Thanks again in advance!

For me at work and for others that are curious, I'm copying this from a blue post. Most of you will be able to log in and see these or just look at wowhead, but poor websensored guys like me have to do this to see them at work :

The new Season 4 items will have the below personal and team arena rating requirements:

Shoulders: 2200
Weapon: 2050
Head: 1700
Chest: 1600
Legs: 1550
Gloves: none
Off-hand: none

In addition, some of the Season 4 quality items that will be purchasable with honor will also carry a personal and team arena rating requirement:

Boots: 1700
Ring: 1650
Bracers: 1575
Belt: none
Necklace: none
Trinket: none

Strictly speaking, there is no magic amount of hit rating an enhancement shaman needs. Most of our DPS comes from Stormstrike/Windfury, and that can be capped through talents. the 6% from Dual-Wield Spec and 3% from Nature's Guidance.

If you wanted to cap your white hits, you'd have to get 300 hit rating after getting DW spec and Nature's guidance.

the base rule for shamans is to focus on AP, then crit, then hit.

AP will make your specials hit harder, crit will help keep Unleashed rage up. Hit is a distant third.

That's not to say that you should avoid it. You just simply don't need to go out of your way to get it. so don't gem for hit. Since hit and crit gems are the same color, go for crit over hit for meta/socket bonus (if worth it). you will pick up hit on gear as you go along.

your auto-attack (white) damage is less than half of your DPS. Just be happy you get to focus on hitting things harder, instead of hitting things more often.

Okay, I think I'm finally done with my little bored-at-work-and-I-think-too-much-into-the-game spreadsheet. Tell me if I did it right, wrong, or how you guys might do it differently. Also, here's my Shammy as he sits now: »www.armory-light.com/us/Anub'ara···enfeffa/ (I'll likely get the Seer's chest piece soon, just for the ease to get and the extra PvP stats).

Here's how the columns break down:
For the armors:

-AC is, of course, how much AC I gain. I factored in the little AGI I have in some of my stuff but for most of the pieces it's plain ole AC form the item.

-MP5: Not a factor, but I said "wth, why not?" Really, I did say "wth", I'm quirky like that.

-Stam: First I put how much base stam I get from each piece, then I added in stam from gems or socket bonuses. On the Seer's gear I just left the gems as PvE (str, crit, etc.) and for the Brutal and Guardian I went PvP (stam, resil where I could). Is that the way I should go, or does it matter much in 2v2s? I kept the blue gems in the Seer's because I go by the standard of "if it's a blue piece, I normally use a blue gem. If it's an epic piece, I use an epic gem."

Here are the gem breakdowns as I saw myself using them:
--For Meta: »www.wow-gem.com/gems.aspx/cr/metas/njc/run+
--For red/blue PvP epic gems: »www.wow-gem.com/gems.aspx/cr/epi···sta+/str
--For yellow/blue epic gems: »www.wow-gem.com/gems.aspx/cr/epi···/yellows

--For red/blue regular gems: »www.wow-gem.com/gems.aspx/rare/reds/sta+/str
--For yellow/blue regular gems: »www.wow-gem.com/gems.aspx/njc/rare/res+/sta

-INT: Not really a factor, just another "wth not?"

-STR: Like with the stam, base+gem/socket bonus.

-Crit: Same as STR and STA

-%crit bonus (22 crit = 1% crit): Here I just took the total crit with gems/bonuses and divided by 22 by using the formula stonhinge provided above. Then I subtracted to come up with my gain.

-Resil: Same as STR/STA/crit.

-AP: base armor AP + any bonuses from the armor itself or from socket bonuses/gems.

-AP+STR bonus (1 STR = 2 AP): Took the total STR from base, gems, etc. and doubled it for the AP bonus.

-Total DPS (14 AP = 1 DPS): This is from the fact that 7 STR gives 1 DPS, and since I factored the STR into the AP...

-Sockets: This is to see what colors of gems I gain or lose and so that I can see what kinds of gems I'll be putting in.

-Honor or arena: How much honor or how many arena points it'll cost.

-Tokens (type, amt.): Self-explanatory...how many of what BG tokens will it cost.

-Arena rating req.: Also self-explanatory...what rating is needed for it?

-Present socket(s): What type of socket is in it, or what type will be in it.

-Socket bonus: What I get from using the correct gem colors (I always prefer to, regardless).

-Extra: This is extra stuff from the armor that I don't have in the other columns.

-----------------

Just ignore the "Merci n Guardian" tab. I was planning to just grind honor and get the pieces that upgraded the most, but decided to see if I could get some Brutal instead later on.

The stats in red are the highest upgrade for each stat in each set of rows (see below).

I put in three different sets of rows for one being Brutal pieces, one being guardian/non-Brutal, and a separate one for the weps due to the different factors involved in the calculations (base DPS, etc.).

The rows in the light green highlight are the pieces that take no Arena rating, and those will likely be the pieces I go for first. I'm doing that because, well, I will badly need them to get any decent sort of rating in my 2v2 .

---------

Tell me what you guys think ... but don't tell me I put WAY too much time and WAY too much thought into this, because I know this!

Oh yeah and the blue columns are the main upgrade factors to me, since I also plan to do a few dailies now and then so I can afford the gems .

I also prefer PvE, so if/when I can get a decent connection I'll be using some of these pieces in raids. I miss my raiding days a lot lately...

Okay so I know I'm the only one posting here, but I just thought of a rather quirky idea to maybe make Arena games easier, and maybe BGs as well...:

Make a combo Elemental/Enhance build and get two pieces of the Seer's Ringmail set for the extra 35 resil. I'm about to go see if I can come up with something that makes sense, but what do you guys think of that crazy idea?

Edits:
Here's try 1 for a decent build: »www.wow-tools.org/talenttemplate···King/408
And here's try 2: »www.wow-tools.org/talenttemplate···King/409

Last edit, I think...I'm going to try the new spec and gear combo., and go with Elem/Enh! I've been too lazy to get my Sha'Tar rep the last few points I need, so I'll grab the Seer's Chain Armor and upgrade my crappy green chest, then get the Chain Leggings to compliment it .

Finally got my stinkin' belt, yay! It takes forever when you get disconnected every 3 minutes . Now on to the Vind. ring!

EDIT: Oh and I forgot to say: The new Elem/Enh spec with the two different Seer's gear combos seems to work nicely. I just look rather odd dual-wielding in a dress!

An interesting update to Shaman mechanics:

"Here's an interesting game mechanic that hasn't been picked up by the Wrath of the Lich King expansion's beta patch notes. Player Malan over at the WotLK beta forums reports that Blizzard has apparently revised how the game translates agility into attack power. Here was Malan's exact post over in the Shaman class section of the WotLK beta forums:I happened to roll my mouse over the Agility line of the char screen and was surprised that it says I'm gettting 250 Attack Power from Agility and I definitely have more AP than I do on live with the same gear. (I am not spec'd into Mental Dexterity so its not Intellect doing it)Anyone able to verify this? For reference: with my full kit on my AP shows 1888. I remove the exalted hyjal ring (29 Agility and 60 AP).My AP on the char sheet drops to 1799, a difference of 89. 29 60 = 89. Its definitely giving me AP for my agility.Blizzard poster Koraa further confirmed that a new agility mechanic was indeed implemented - the developers just forgot to include it in the current patch notes:Sorry about that, it should of been in the patch notes. The idea is for DPS mail (with AGI and AP) to be viable for both Hunters and Shaman. Strength is mostly now only a stat for Death Knights, Warriors and Ret Paladins. When this this change gets finalized, it will have some far-reaching consequences for World of Warcraft's Shaman class. For one, there's the possibility of increased demand for "hunter gear," equipment that focuses heavily on agility buffs over other stats. On the other hand, this could spell very bad news for shamans who have already invested heavily in strength-based gear. Those interested in reading the rest of the discussion regarding WotLK's changes to Agility mechanics will want to visit the official forums, via the source link below."
