| Wireless card for ZyWall 35
So I've been using a ZyWall 35 with a ZyAir G-100 card now for almost 3 years, I now need to order a router for a new office and figured I'd go with this same setup so I could use the VPN features. However, I can't find a G-100 anywhere and Zyxel's website doesn't list specific models of compatible cards that I can find. Is the ZyAir G-102 compatible? Any others?
Thanks! |

But honestly: buy a separate AP. Connect this to a WLAN zone and you can do exactly the same as with an internal card.

| Negative.
There are three separate DHCP serving Lan type zones in the ZyWALL series, the private LAN and Zone 2 and Zone 3. ZyXEL hardwired the names of 2 and three to be DMZ and WLAN but you can use them for any purpose you wish.
Historically, originally you may be correct, my memory is fuzzy, but along the line this was modified. I do believe it is accurate to say that if you do use the slot on the router, it does tie into the WLAN zone, otherwise as above. -- Ain't nuthin but the blues! "Albert Collins". | Anav is correct.
And even if he wasn't: the so called Zones are just pre-configured firewall rules, nothing more, nothing less.
If you want to use WLAN as a LAN2, because you have e.g. 2 companies behind a ZW35 and you want to isolate them from each other, you just have to change the default firewall policy's. With policy rules yo can route LAN(1) over WAN1 and LAN2(=WLAN) over WAN2.
It is completely flexible, people are often too set/fixed on the name.
