We've been having really spotty connections in Holmes County, OH recently. It seems lately it goes out then fires right back up. Goes out more than Brittney Spears it seems. I can understand the last week with the storms and all but afterwards? |

| reply to Sileny Jizda No idea. Just know it drops and such around the same time every night. Sporadically drops during the day. Comes and goes so often to the point using my DSL pointless. We use all of our filters and can't find any real reason for the drops. The dsl light literally goes off then comes back on when it sees fit. Either they have issues, the guys in the CO are kicking everyone off to play World of Warcraft, or the Amish have found a way to steal DSL. Haven't had any rain the past few days and we're still having problems.
Either way I'm getting ticked and about to talk to the neighbor about what he thinks of his cable internet. |

| Have you even called to have a tech come out? Your line isn't monitored, so when you have problems, complaining on a forum isn't going to fix it. With you losing sync like that, it sounds like you are having line issues which require a technician to fix. |

| reply to Sileny Jizda From the looks of things here (forum) it's more than a 'your line' issue as it has happened before for myself with no resolution despite line checks and other customers complaints here as well. I was also under the impression, from before, that Embarq had tech in here to address issues and answer questions. Reading around here though seems they have taken them out and have left us to the whims of tech support roulette via phone. |

| reply to Sileny Jizda The techs do still post, but they seem to have been limited a great deal. It started out with, I think four techs, now it's down to one. Your best bet is to either do an online chat with Embarq or give them a call to find out how your line looks. It's possible your modem may be flaking out, or something happened to the line this time. You could also try private messaging the rep that still posts on this forum, but there's no guarantee when he'll be able to get back to you. |

| reply to Sileny Jizda Okay, here is the deal. Normally, I'm at my physical work address during the day. So for all I know this has been occurring at the same time for the entire time I've had this issue. Now you can basically say the time period this internet connection is spotty is during the entire day. It's taken 10 disconnects, crtl-c, and a heck of a lot of button refreshing to even get this message out. I've responded to the tech here with the required info yet I get bubkis. Get this situation resolved or I'm looking for another provider for my service within the week. I can't do business like this. It's a dang shame given that I've been impressed with the service up to this month. |

1 edit | reply to Sileny Jizda After several attempts to post this again due to drops...
Got a message from a tech here. They seem to have an idea what the problem is and want to do some things. Here is what I have on my end. Some of the noise numbers have reflected as low(?) as -2 in the past few days when really knocked around.

| reply to Sileny Jizda a noise margin of -2 = guaranteed drop of sync. anything below 6 is going to give you one heck of a problem, anything between 6 and 9 is potentially problematic. The stats you listed shows good line stats at the time you got them, but if the problem is up and down, it's hard to get an accurate screenshot, I know. Happen to know what kind of DSLAM you're on? certain DSLAMs have counters, helping to prove your point |

| reply to Sileny Jizda Started up again this morning around 6:30 am EST.
Fire up the computer. No connection. Checked the modem and had lights on Power, Ethernet, DSL but NOT on Internet. We've watched the DSL and Internet lights literally turn off and stay that way a few minutes then turn back on.
Ran a ATM Status as above and all the noice margines came up "0". It's been spotty since then. Tried to run a ATM test and came with this message now...
DSL/ATM Status is not available at this moment, please make sure the DSL phone cable is connected to the router and try again.
Here is what we have done. 1) Replaced the phone line. 2) Tried different phone jacks. 3) Made sure everything else had DSL filters. 4) Unplugged everything else. 5) Hooked directly into the modem. 5) Swapped the old 660 series modem for a new smaller version 660 modem a few days back. 6) Rebooted the modem and checked for firmware updates so much it I were kicking it my toe would be broken at this point.
We can't think of much else to do. |

| You really need to get a tech out to fix this. Thier is nothing else we can do in this thread. The problem is beyond your control. Just ask tech support to send a tech out asap since its a on going issue that hasnt been resolved and they should be able to send someone out either same day or next. They can take appts up till 2pm. Another thing dont let them send you another modem. |
