My Trendnet wireless 432-BRP is sitting on the floor unplugged. It would reset itself each time. Called couple times, they made me downgrade firmware. Instead of releasing a newer one. During the few calls some reps were nice. Others were either cluess or did not want to help. They now released a newer version for the 432-brp C.x. But it still kept crapping out. Linksys works but sometimes drops but not as terrible.
My Canada trendnet version of none wireless router (forgot name TEW-SWCA??) is also on the floor unplugged. Sent first one back to them cause it was totally dead (at my expense) minus warranty. Which they covered and sent back to me a second one. This one works but has some other issues. My trendnet wireless card was shaky too and sits on the floor. Not sure what to do with these products. But trendnet surely pleased me as a customer -- not.
To save a few bucks seems like more bucks of self being in long run. What personally excited me was the price and style of their products. Will I try them again? : Perhaps or perhaps not. ("If they changed from last time"). LOL applicable quote? Albert Einstein -- "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." |

| Not to sound like a hypocrite, I have put back this wireless device. Only used spare Antenna's for it and replaced card antenna which are "bigger" and thicker. The default antenna's that come with (Router and the network adapter) are smaller and weaker. Additionally flashed (tew-432) three times to .19. Will see how it goes, OP see if your firmware upgrade fixes issue too. |

| For a different perspective, my TrendNet TEW-452BRP is also gathering dust - while in service. It's been a rock solid unit since I bought it back in Nov 07. It's only been turned off twice since about Jan 08, once to upgrade the firmware and then briefly during a power failure. It's sitting on top of a bookcase, literally gathering dust.
On the wireless LAN, there's five laptops, a desktop, two multi-function printer servers, a TiVo, a Wii and a cell phone. On the wired LAN, there's a desktop and a file server. The WAN is connected to a 6M DSL circuit. So, this router is pretty well used and gets quite busy.
I would highly recommed this router - especially for its price.
My only gripe with this box (and this is true of most consumer grade wireless routers) is that the wireless side can't be configured as a repeater/bridge/client, etc. It would be nice to have these options. Instead, we are forced to buy a separate wireless AP to perform these functions.
Also, it would be nice if it supported multiple SSIDs. The chipset supports it but the firmware doesn't take advantage of this feature. It would be nice to have a main SSID for ourselves and a "guest" SSID for our visiting guests.
Tech support? I don't have an opinion. I have never had to call them.
