But an HD capable box with standard def outputs like coax, s-video, or composite WILL show those channels and display them on a standard def tv.

The HD box doesn't cost extra and, like others have stated, only a few channels like HDnet are on the extra $5/mo tier. All the other HD channels are included at no cost as part of the basic digital package.

When I first got the new HD box HDNet was working but my Cinemax OnDemand (which I pay for) was not. When they fixed the Cin OD, I think the HDNet went away.
