| Qwest Registration Site--No Software
Assisting relatives in setting-up their DSL in Cave Creek, AZ. I have suggested that they not install the software that was included with their modem from Best Buy.
Is altpath.qwest.com the correct site to use in order to set-up the service?
Not too familiar with Qwest DSL as I personally have both AT&T (Pacific Bell) and Verizon (GTE) DSL at my homes.
Walked right into Best Buy and ordered the DSL from the kiosk, picked-up the Actiontec M1000 modem, went through the check-out, and the modem was free after an in-store instant rebate with no sales tax. Furthermore, the relatives didn't have to pay the 9.99 shipping and handling fee if purchased through the Qwest web site. To sweeten the deal, Qwest is offering a $125 Best Buy gift card, mailed 60 days after service activation date. No rebate forms to mail in.
We'll see if they receive their gift card in a timely manner. The welcome letter arrived in the mail, so it appears they are a "go" for self-installation.
Any suggestions are welcome. |

@QWEST.NET
| You do not need the software unless it is something you want. The modem as shipped from Qwest includes instructions. From BestBuy not sure. There is always the free 800 number to call for assistance with setup. Not surew of it off top of head. But no the software is not needed unless it has something you want. |
