npatrick : Thanks for the feedback. A few additional items:

1) I did check to see if there were any overlapping channels - and after forcing the router to take Channel 1, there aren't any. I'm out in the sticks, so I can barely pick up other wireless AP in the neighborhood.

2) Even if Wireless is bad, wired is good. My home laptop is now wired since I have been having so many problems. My work laptop can connect 80% of the time.

3) I'll try making sure WZC is turned off, but what is strange is that both PCs will lose connectivity at the same time (which makes me think it's a router issue, not a PC issue).

Thanks for the help!

stevech0 : when the wireless fails - do PCs connected by wire work OK? If not, perhaps your w-router is occasionally failing to renew its DHCP from your ISP. If it is DSL with PPPoE, that can be a problem with some crummy w-routers.

Buffalo is essentially the same internals as Linksys.

SoonerAl : If you suspect interference from a near by wireless network, perhaps on the same channel, run one of these scan tools to see if anyone maybe causing a problem.

»8 Free Alternatives to NetStumbler

I had to change my wireless network from Channel 1 to Channel 9 awhile back when a neighbor came up on Channel 1. My wife's wireless XP Pro desktop would start dropping the wireless connection for no apparent reason.
npatrick : I know people here love the Buffalo routers, but I seem to have a recurring sporadic problem.

My wireless connectivity will cut out, randomly, for no apparent reason. Wired connectivity works fine, and distance is not the problem (I can be 5' away and still can't connect).

Any suggestions? Even rebooting (which is getting to be a daily occurrence) doesn't help. :(

Thanks!
