No, you act like an a-hole then say things like "I treat people how they treat me."

What a joke.

Then use the ignore button and please, buy all means, CONTINUE enjoying your horrible, "craptastic" service.

I treat each person the way they treat me. I now know how to treat you.

For you to sit there and call me wrong, is YOUR opinion.. I can see you are truly an extremist. I shall lose no sleep over people like you who enjoy festering.

Again, ENJOY greatly your horrible service.. you truly deserve it! And please, but all means, do NOT think for one moment anything you, or others, do here is going EVER make a change to anything other than your own rotten views in life. Please, enjoy your entitlements all you can get.

TK, Stop trying to use logic here with these people, it doesn't apply. They don't think that any business should make a profit, they don't think that these profits should be able to spent as they see fit - regardless of the arts mandate which is something that happens nationwide on all new structures with a certain price tag. They don't get it.

They believe because they purchase a service that it's a democracy how the profits are to be spent. I suppose, however, if that's how they want it, then maybe we should all be able to tell private people how to spend their earnings too. Maybe people shouldn't spend so much money on worthless cell phones, or eating out. Maybe they shouldn't waste it on frivolous things like vacations and trips. Maybe they should spend it on furthering their education and getting better jobs so they don't worry as much about spending their money they way they see fit.

When I saw this thread and before I entered it, I KNEW it would be this tone, OR, was waiting for people to ask if they were getting the HD feed from DirecTV.
This is why your posts are mean spirited. This is why your posts are rude. You start your very first post talking about everyone else in the third person. You speak as though everyone else is wrong, and only you are right. You speak as though only you an TK know the facts, and the rest of us don't count. Well guess what, this is a forum for all people to bring their opinions, stories, ideas, and experiences. We don't all have to agree with them. We may not all keep a civil tone about them. (at least as much as you are willing to inflect from someone elses writings )But the fact that you START by talking down to the rest of the people who would comment about this subject for various reasons may have something to do with the tone of the responses to your posts.

Have a nice day.

You've been insulting, rude, and wrong throughout this whole thread (and frankly, a lot of the threads you post.) I have refrained from insulting you back, but as you can see the tone here is a bit harsh. I'll just end it again by saying Thank you, your "advice" is not necessary.

Re: What a massive waste

How is it mean spirited and how was it wrong?

Seriously.. I meant every word I said. You can't sit back and expect change unless you get up and do something.

The only one being nasty here is you.

The way you change something in this country is to gain power in numbers. If you get people in your area to work WITH you to visit these city meetings and register your complaints as a whole, THIS is how you gain attention. You get your entire area that is experiencing these issues to show up to the meeting with the cable company there and tell them, as a group, change or you will disconnect. This gains attention.. this gets things fixed.

What is so wrong or mean spirited about this?

Seriously.. it sounds like you WANT to have something to bitch about.

By all means, please continue!

You didn't get anything promised by Chap 30 in the end. You have 1.5Mb upload on that dry loop? You mentioned 3Mb dry loop and I'm unaware of any 3/1.5+ dry loop plans from VZ. You have VZ video services on that dry loop? Certainly no. Only FiOS customers are getting the things promised by Chap 30 and Chap 30 required that FiOS type service be available to 50% of all customers 4 years ago.

VZ got billions in breaks and PA subs got none of what they were promised. And when it finally came to it, VZ flipped PA the bird and deployed in Texas. I think that sucks. PA should have seen the first and fastest FiOS deployment rates in the nation. VZ should have pulled out all the stops. Since they didn't I think VZ from their massive margins should have to repay the PA taxpayers every penny they got through this scam.

And I don't give a crap where people are when the get screwed over, I'm going to be critical of whoever is doing the screwing no matter where they are.

Yes, Verizon "settled" and came through in a half-assed way. I never said they delivered the 45 meg FIBER TO THE HOME they agreed to. I said they satisfied the masses by providing rural broadband. They did this by requiring 50 signatures per zip, a huge mistake on there part because a zip code is 10-200 square miles...

My point was they came through in a way, and that is what I said. They did not deliver what they said but we did get them in the end, my POINT well written I felt but I guess anyone can read anything into anything written, huh?

You live in CA. The last Chap 30 involved you was when?

You need to think more and type less. You should actually read up on Chap 30 and what it required. I'll give you the Cliff's Notes version of the history lesson since you obviously have no clue what you're talking about.

3Mb dry loop doesn't even come close to meeting their Chap 30 obligations which among other things required full deployment of 45Mb video and data services to all access lines and installing that service within 5 days of customer order. You have 45Mb service available to you within 5 days of order? As of 4 years ago 50% of PA subs were supposed to have it.

Also chapter 30 defined broadband as a minimum 1.5/1.5. Your ADSL doesn't even meet the Chap 30 definition of broadband and we all know that 1.5Mb DSL isn't available on all access lines and T1s don't get installed within 5 days.

So why would Chap 30 even be written into law?

BA at the time was planning FTTP deployment »newscenter.verizon.com/press-rel···29607541 and in exchange Chapter 30 offered significant deregulation and bonuses. BA got their Chap 30 deregulation which according to the testamony of well known industry expert Dr. Selwyn »www.econtech.com/library/LLS%20P···2002.pdf BA got billions and billions while not deploying shit. When it finally came to deploying fiber, Verizon chose Texas, not Pennsylvania to see it's first deployments. And even to this day, FTTC isn't available in the deployment rates required by Chap 30.

Now you want to back up your claim that BA now VZ has met their Chapter 30 obligations of 45Mb service on all their access lines? Not even T3 meets the requirements as VZ doesn't service it within the required 5 days, and even VZ themselves aren't stupid enough to say a T3 meets the requirement (they wrongly claim that ADSL does it »www22.verizon.com/about/communit···dex.html despite the lack of universal servicability of synchronous 1.5Mb service that don't meet the original Chap 30 requirements). And of course VZ provides no video services on those lines.

In early 2002 the PA PUC stated
quote:
"...this Commission has a legal obligation to reject Verizon PA’s 2000 Update and require it to submit a new update specifying its plans to satisfy its legal obligation to provide a modernized network with broadband capability of at least 45 Mbps upstream and downstream, to be available within five days from the customer request date.
In 2003 Pennsylvania let Verizon off the hook, letting them keep the billions they got and still no 45Mb service. »Picture Perfect Deal

I eagerly await your data showing VZ even remotely lived up to BA's Chap 30 obligations of sychronous 45Mb service or any evidence to refute the testimony of industry expert Dr. Selwyn.

I live in Pennsylvania and Verizon actually had to come through on the deal. My Grandma, actually we call it the farm because the nearest neighbor is a cow... no really is about 5 miles away yet she gets 3 meg DSL!

Now, with that said, I think Verizon came through, by force and in a different way than promised, so quit using that BS.

I have Verizon dry DSL with Vonage VOIP to solve all of the above problems you mentioned. Use your brain and stop bitching because there are ways around everything you are bitching about. I think you have every right to complain but what you are complaining about is simply not a valid problem, therefore, you are just like a crazy man on the corner screaming the end is near without anything to back it up.

Hmmm.. I said everything's going my way?

I told people to cheer up? I have more than 2 options here?

Amazing you can get that from my post.. re-reading my own, I didn't see it.

It's not about just knowing what's there. You just proved you want to bitch and not solve problems.

I outlined the way you do things in this country to cause change. However, its truly clear you don't want to see change or BE PART of what changes things.

If you, or anyone, thinks that posting disdain here on BBR is going to make change, you're wrong.

See above for the answer. You can't sit back and HOPE it will change.

The "other options" were to take part in BRINGING change.. but again, you're rather spend your time on BBR bitching like the others who think they are making change.

For once, I'd LOVE for people to post what they have done to solve the problems instead of sitting back and saying "I am so helpless"... can ANYONE state what they've done to take part in change?

Seems everytime something is done, it's by seniors.. I wonder why! Maybe they still GET IT!

The buck doesn't stop with cable, alone. You, and so many others, have options - many just refuse to use them or say they have none.
I stay on top of my options, thank you very much. There are only currrently two real choices for broadband here. Granted, in other parts of the Nation, there may be more, but 2 is pretty average for most places.

Just because you have options doesn't mean you can pronounce everything as fine and dandy for the rest of the country.

You kinda remind me of that old story about the guy who tells everyone to Cheer up--- because everything is going his way.

LOL. Of course I'm a shill for my side. Duh. I shill for the little guy, Joe Taxpayer and Jane Ratepayer who are constantly screwed over by government, cable, telcos, the jerkoffs they bribe and everyone else who abuses their power.

You can go on shilling for Comcast all you want. No one is stopping you (obviously) and you're certainly not the only cable fanboy on DSLR. But don't expect your outrageous claims and endless defense of cable interests to go unanswered. No one here is going to give you are anyone else a free pass to spout endless corporate talking points or viciously attack anyone who dares speak ill of the all-mighty Comcast.

I will continue to slam Verizon, AT&T, Comcast, government, or their fanboy shill spokeholes whenever they spout lies and bullshit, support the lies and bullshit or regurgitate the lies and bullshit.

There is one thing telling about all this. You don't have problems giving me thumbs up when I'm defending Comcast or the cable industry from the cable haters and telco shills. But then you quickly turn and call it harassment when those same satirical guns are trained in the direction of the Coaxial Masters or their many minions. That's called hypocrisy. And you constantly belittle and flame people (the likely cause of so many moderator actions against you) usually while talking out your ass arguing with people way above your pay grade. And you think you're being picked on? Don't flatter yourself. Trust me, no one here gives you a second thought.

If you have a problem with a post or user your only recourse is to refute the post, ignore the post/user and/or use the Hey Mods button.

In the meantime I suggest you get some objectivity, don't post what you can't defend and don't boo hoo it up whenever people call you out for firing up your daily cable talking points. Every single post here is open for comment and critique and when posting patterns emerge, those patterns are open for comment and critique as well.

EDIT - Actually I just gave you a 1 extra thought.

The day before yesterday you called pspcrazy See Profile a "little boy" during one of your typical forum rule violating belittlementfests but it's obviously you who needs to man up. You dish it out constantly and now you're complaining about how you're a poor victim of a vast conspiracy that includes DSLR mods. Interesting that you feel that you should be able to dish it out as much as you want but you yourself should never be challenged.

I thought I would share an old post of yours with the class. I'll leave you with your own words...
