Re: What a massive waste

Does that mean under that zoning code I could buy a bunch of music and then play it throughout the building as "Art"?

If you paid the copyright holders their cut you could. And don't forget the city would want you to pay for an entertainment license.

TK is wrong. The video wall has ZERO to do with the art compliance. The very article he quoted states as much. According to the company that developed by video programming for the wall, it was Brian Roberts himself that conceived the wall and had it built in the lobby. »www.4evergroup.org/news_items/08···000.html just as he insisted on the change from a stone exterior to a glass exterior.

That's what happens when you pony up guaranteed hundreds of millions in subscriber dough. According to real estate articles, leases in the Comcast Center are in the high $30/ft range and they're leasing over 1M sqft.

quote:
Comcast Center's annual per-square-foot rents are in the high $30s, which has allowed rents at other buildings in the mid-$20s to creep upward, Gattuso said.

Wow, imagine that. The lead tenant in a building had suggestions for its design and the owner listened. The world is spinning off its access!!

Yeah, imagine that...Comcast spending hundreds of millions in subscriber money on their fancy new HQ while their service runs like ass and customer service ranks lower than the IRS.

By consolidating all their workers from multiple buildings and multiple leases in to one building, I heard that they are actually paying less per year under the new lease starting next year after everyone is moved in.

Moving is extremely expensive. They're spending $250M on furnishings alone for this new HQ...and at a premium lease rate I seriously doubt this is going to be cheaper overall. The leases in the new HQ are in the high $30's while the rest of the town even for full service Class A buildings is in the $20's.

Roberts wanted his trophy and the subscribers bought him one.

Another round of chocolate starfish licking of cable from the resident cable shills who like the drones they are spout Roberts' talking points on command.

Fine, let them drop hundreds of millions of hard paid subscriber dollars on their glass tower, video walls and mahogany desks but don't stand there on your shill box telling us how 2x a year 3X inflation price increases and overages fees are necessary to keep the networks up or how all these price increases on video are because of so-called channel extortionists like ABC. It's all lies and bullshit.

F Brian 'Leased BMW' Roberts and his shit service along with their barnacle shills attached firmly to his ass.

With this kind of wasteful spending taking priority at Comcast, it's certainly no wonder people rate the IRS higher in satisfaction than ever worsening Comcrap.

Repeat after me:

"It's NOT MY MONEY!"

You need to remove the implication that it's "subscribers" money.. 'cause it ain't! I suppose the money you make at work belongs to your employer and with your logic applied, they should be able to tell you how to spend it too.

Really, you're not even a subscriber and you're spending an awful lot of time on something that doesn't concern you.

Further, just becuase I don't, again, agree with you and your constant whining, complaining and moaning, doesn't mean I'm a shill. I could care less if this was Comcast, Best Buy, Verizon, or WHO EVER THE HELL purchased this screen.. it has NOTHING to do with WHO.. it's the WHAT.. so you can shove your SHILL up your... $#*Q&*.

All you've done today, like others, it blathered about how you are being wronged and calling anyone who disagrees with you a shill.

SHILL THIS!

It's the subscribers' money that is endlessly wasted while Comcast takes endless price increases crying poverty over ABC.

With Comcast wasting so much money it's no wonder they're rated lower than the IRS.

What else does Brian Roberts have to say, all-mighty cable spokehole? Go cash that Comcast check and download your next round of Brian's talking points and we can all find out.

Why does the price of gas keep going up? I don't see any HD tvs at the local Shell or Hess. What are they spending all of MY money on?

You throw around the charge of "shill" very freely. Perhaps a look in the mirror is in order since as a Verizon Fios customer your vehemence against Comcast has made you suspect as a Verizon shill.

More of TK's selective memory. Funny, I seem to recall assailing Verizon for stealing $2B from Pennsylvania taxpayers while you and the other corporate fanboys defended them.

»They promised PA stuff too

Oops, it seems you missing facts isn't limited to the articles you quote.

And Fiberguy who likes to make similar accusations also has a similar selective memory. »Karl, you have proof that COMCAST published it? Including this post for which he gave me a thumbs-up »Re: Karl, you have proof that COMCAST published it?

So much for the Skeedatl is a shill theory.

Given the record profits of the oil giants, that is a very good question.

Deliberately missing the point...? The point is: No, it was not put in by the building owner to comply with zoning... Yes, it was put in by Comcast, at their own expense.

Why do you speak on their service as a whole?

That would be like me saying their service is fine because I've had it in several different locations in several states and never had any major issues.

Because their service as a whole sucks ass and unlike the rest of their industry, their service rankings are in a free fall. They shouldn't be dropping such large sums on fluff until they improve their service in those areas needing improvement.
