How about the company in question actually provide you with the service they charge you for.... |

| Holy crap! Your service has problems.. either 1) call for a service call and get it handled 2) stop buying from a company that is allegedly ripping you off.
I don't know what's worse.. a company that doesn't produce what they sell, as some people claim, or those that continue to do business with them no matter WHAT the reason. |

Oh wait.... there isn't one. Guess I'm stuck with the crap, or the nothing. Guess what. That entitles you to bitch about the crap.
Your theory would work if there was actually a real competitive market. -- "Regulatory capitalism is when companies invest in lawyers, lobbyists, and politicians, instead of plant, people, and customer service." - former FCC Chairman William Kennard (A real FCC Chairman, unlike the current Corporate Spokesperson in the job!) |

| Then.. what else are you doing to change it? Have you shown up to any of your local franchise meetings? How about a city planning meeting? Have you rallied your neighbors to the cause? Have you written your representative?
Have you actually sat down and WROTE a letter.. not email, but an actual pen to paper or typed and mailed letter to the local office?
I'm guessing you do not have DSL available to you? .. and if not, have you done what we did in MN? We mandated that Qwest improved service to more people in the state, even rural areas, when they wanted to get into long distance. We required better service.
You stated that you had no competition. There is nothing stopping phone from competing with cable - have you thought about going after phone using the above methods, or others, to get phone to service you and give you a choice that so many others have?
The buck doesn't stop with cable, alone. You, and so many others, have options - many just refuse to use them or say they have none.
If you pre-judge the outcome and say it will never work, for one you sound like a hana barbara character, and two, you're destined to fail and take what you get.
You will NEVER know until you try it. But, to blame cable for you having no choice it totally misplaced blame. You can't sit back and wait for everything to change on it's own in your favor.
Who gets the most done in this country while being called cooks? Activist.. I guess it takes a cook to make change as they seem to be the only group organized enough to make changes. Funny thing is, they are small groups who speak loud and cause the most conflict. There is something to be said about their actions, huh? |

I stay on top of my options, thank you very much. There are only currrently two real choices for broadband here. Granted, in other parts of the Nation, there may be more, but 2 is pretty average for most places.
Just because you have options doesn't mean you can pronounce everything as fine and dandy for the rest of the country.
You kinda remind me of that old story about the guy who tells everyone to Cheer up--- because everything is going his way. -- "Regulatory capitalism is when companies invest in lawyers, lobbyists, and politicians, instead of plant, people, and customer service." - former FCC Chairman William Kennard (A real FCC Chairman, unlike the current Corporate Spokesperson in the job!) |

| Hmmm.. I said everything's going my way?
I told people to cheer up? I have more than 2 options here?
Amazing you can get that from my post.. re-reading my own, I didn't see it.
It's not about just knowing what's there. You just proved you want to bitch and not solve problems.
I outlined the way you do things in this country to cause change. However, its truly clear you don't want to see change or BE PART of what changes things.
If you, or anyone, thinks that posting disdain here on BBR is going to make change, you're wrong.
See above for the answer. You can't sit back and HOPE it will change.
The "other options" were to take part in BRINGING change.. but again, you're rather spend your time on BBR bitching like the others who think they are making change.
For once, I'd LOVE for people to post what they have done to solve the problems instead of sitting back and saying "I am so helpless"... can ANYONE state what they've done to take part in change?
Seems everytime something is done, it's by seniors.. I wonder why! Maybe they still GET IT! |

As usual, your assumptions are 1) all wrong and 2) mean spirited.
It's pretty obvious from your post you just want to attack and feel superior. Thanks, your input is no longer necessary or desired. |

| How is it mean spirited and how was it wrong?
Seriously.. I meant every word I said. You can't sit back and expect change unless you get up and do something.
The only one being nasty here is you.
The way you change something in this country is to gain power in numbers. If you get people in your area to work WITH you to visit these city meetings and register your complaints as a whole, THIS is how you gain attention. You get your entire area that is experiencing these issues to show up to the meeting with the cable company there and tell them, as a group, change or you will disconnect. This gains attention.. this gets things fixed.
What is so wrong or mean spirited about this?
Seriously.. it sounds like you WANT to have something to bitch about.
By all means, please continue! |

| You've been insulting, rude, and wrong throughout this whole thread (and frankly, a lot of the threads you post.) I have refrained from insulting you back, but as you can see the tone here is a bit harsh. I'll just end it again by saying Thank you, your "advice" is not necessary. -- "Regulatory capitalism is when companies invest in lawyers, lobbyists, and politicians, instead of plant, people, and customer service." - former FCC Chairman William Kennard (A real FCC Chairman, unlike the current Corporate Spokesperson in the job!) |

| Then use the ignore button and please, buy all means, CONTINUE enjoying your horrible, "craptastic" service.
I treat each person the way they treat me. I now know how to treat you.
For you to sit there and call me wrong, is YOUR opinion.. I can see you are truly an extremist. I shall lose no sleep over people like you who enjoy festering.
Again, ENJOY greatly your horrible service.. you truly deserve it! And please, but all means, do NOT think for one moment anything you, or others, do here is going EVER make a change to anything other than your own rotten views in life. Please, enjoy your entitlements all you can get.
Fester. |

KrK Heavy Artillery For The Little Guy Premium join:2000-01-17 Tulsa, OK | No, you act like an a-hole then say things like "I treat people how they treat me."
What a joke.
