The guide on DirecTV is 100% better, but the DirecTV outages are a PITA. I'm housesitting this week at someone's house who has DirecTV HD... and the HD channels I watch most often look substantially better on DirecTV than they do on Time Warner in the Greensboro/Burlington market.

And the channels that are digital simulcasts of analog channels on Time Warner Greensboro look so much better on DirecTV I actually had to get face to face with the screen because I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Comparing the 2 on same model, same size LCD TVs. The only difference is at home I watch on a SA 8300HDC and here they have a DirecTV HD DVR - the black version.

I had also forgotten how nice the DirecTV guide was compared to the one on the SA 8300's. Not as nice as a TiVo but DirecTV has come a LONG way fast while Time Warner appears to be stuck in the 1980's.
