Ok, so I've tried everything I can possibly think of to fiddle with this. I used to be able to forward ports just fine when I was connected to cable, and also to school LAN, but nothing I try works.
I'm trying to make a TCP/IP connection to play MegaMek, a java-based game on the net with some friends. I can connect to another person's computer to play a game on his, but I can't create a game on my own that others can connect to. They always get 'Can't connect' etc etc errors.
I've forwarded the ports through the modem GUI using the service forwarding screen, and from what I see, everything should be set up just fine. I've dropped the firewall on the modem, and also on Windows, so ideally, it should connect.
Is there something stupid I'm missing? I set my computer to use a static IP (192.168.1.15) instead of getting one randomly through DHCP.
Can anyone help me? Ironically, I can play pretty much anything else, WoW, City of Heroes, and lots of others, no problem. |
