Z90014 join:2008-02-01 Los Angeles, CA | i QUIT tw :) I'm the type to be very upset at caps on my broadband.
The new TW caps they are trying in TX was enough for me to say enough. I called and canceled my TW service last week.
They of course told me I couldn't cancel because I didn't have a secret code. So I called back and told them that this is my notification of terminating my contract with them and that the ball was now in their court. They should never expect to hear from me or receive any money for I, at that time made my intention clear.
This woke someone up and they asked why I would want to switch to a slower, DSL connection (slower being their presumption). I thanked her for asking and stated that the caps being tested in TX by TW were unacceptable to me and that I would not support a company that employs caps.
The issues of caps, immunity and rates have left me feeling powerless. Here in California, for example, the Telecoms convinced the State that local control of Telecoms was bad and that a State franchise board would be better. This has come to pass, and so has my power to effect change locally.
The religion of the dollar was only one sword, and I used it when I cancelled Time 'Caping' Warner. Peace.
