1999 Trans Am, No dash cluster gauge lights.

mouseferatu : I have a 1999 Pontiac Trans Am that is on the road less than half the year. It is winter stored in a climate controlled auto storage facility, and has about 30K miles on it.

1. When I start the car, all off the appropriate digital dash lights flash, but the analog speedometer, tachometer, oil gauge, fuel gauge, etc., do not.

2. The fuses are all good- I tested 'em all, reseated 'em, and replaced the two associated with the dashboard even though they tested OK.

3. All of the digital read-outs are on and working. None of the analog items are lit.

4. The car has a Hellfire alarm system which will allow the car to run dark. However, the alarm system is working well, and is switched on to full lighting. It does shut down or turn on the inside door and dome light when set to, so I have no particular reason to assume that it is defective. The car also has a passive LoJack.

5. The gauges work fine. They simply are not lit. I can not find any loose cables or wires.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

--
"Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crispy and good with catsup."
