Dead Speedtouch 516

I'm just on the web surfing when all of a sudden my Speedtouch 516 dies. I did not do anything to the firmware and the power is completely dead. It's plugged in but no lights...any clues?

The ST516 has a 1 year warranty, how long have you had it and did you buy it from TSI?

Been noticing a lot of these dropping dead, my guess is it may be a heat issue as some people suggest on another thread. This is why I keep mine sitting on top of my Case fan from my Antec 900, cool air blows right threw it.

Prior to its death it does get ridiculously hot, maybe the overheat did it.

Did you have anything on top of it? Like the above post I keep a fan going on my equipment.

I had it on top of my printer before, and my Dad moved it on top the carpet rug. Unfortunately that may have done it.

Get yourself a 2wire from Caneris. I've been using one for the past month. $25 plus shipping and it has a built in wireless router which works well.

have you tried the back power button???

the 516 is a much better modem than the 2wire imo

I have both the 2wire and ST516V6 and they're both excellent.
