theDUDE : Hello, i was just wondering if anyone has experience getting cable in this type of situation. I am currently trying to get cable where i live which is 3 miles from the nearest drop. There is some where in the area of 50 other homes between here and there. I did receive their long-drops policy which basically tells me $4 a foot to lay cable. I was hoping my area would qualify as profitable especially since a mountian blocks signals from both local wireless pr viders and EMBARQ has failed year after year to provide dsl, a csr actually told me it would be years. After talking to people in the area it seems to be faulty or out dated equipment which EMBARQ wont replace till broken(MONEY).
The new cable company took over the area and upgraded everything and i hoped when they got to my road it would be extended. That didn't happen so now i'm making calls to see if it could be done that is without paying $4 dollars a foot. Who could afford that?

It would be helpful to hear anyone else's story even from a different company as an example. Thanks for listening!
